Wisconsin's Veterans and Surviving Spouses Property Tax Credit refunds the property tax paid on a primary residence (plus up to one acre) through the state income tax form, for veterans receiving 100% VA service-connected compensation, 100% for Individual Unemployability, or Dependency & Indemnity Compensation (DIC).

Wisconsin GI Bill (Tuition Remission)

Full tuition & fee remission — up to 128 credits

The Wisconsin GI Bill remits full tuition and segregated fees for up to 8 semesters or 128 credits (whichever is greater) at any University of Wisconsin or Wisconsin Technical College school, for eligible veterans and their spouses, unremarried surviving spouses, and children — at all degree levels.

Free State Park Admission (Disabled Veterans)

Free daily admission to state parks & forests

Wisconsin disabled veterans can receive an identification card from the Bureau of Parks & Recreation; presenting it at a state park, forest, or recreation area gets a courtesy day pass at no charge.

Free Hunting/Fishing License (Returning Veterans)

One-time free small-game, archery, gun-deer, or fishing license

Under 2013 Wisconsin Act 20, recently returning Wisconsin resident veterans can receive a one-time free small game, archery, gun deer, OR annual fishing license — redeemed at the DNR within 365 days of discharge.
