50% of the first $200,000 of your home's value exempt

Colorado exempts 50% of the first $200,000 of a home's actual value for a veteran with a 100% permanent service-connected disability (and for Gold Star spouses) on their owner-occupied primary residence — a reduction of up to about $100,000 of value.

Free Lifetime VA Combo Hunting/Fishing License

Free lifetime fishing + small-game hunting license

Colorado Parks & Wildlife offers a free lifetime Fishing (or Fishing + Small-Game Hunting combo) license to veterans with a 50%+ VA service-connected disability, and to Purple Heart recipients. Combo holders are also exempt from buying an annual Habitat Stamp.

Independence Pass (State Parks)

Unlimited free access to all Colorado state parks

Colorado's Independence Pass gives unlimited access to all state parks for Colorado-resident veterans with a service-connected disability and for Purple Heart recipients. Vehicles with a Colorado Disabled Veteran or Purple Heart plate also get free year-round park entry.
