Florida Veteran Benefits
Veteran and military benefits available in Florida: property-tax exemptions, tuition waivers, license and park-fee waivers, and more — each verified from an official Florida source.
Disabled Veteran Property Tax Exemption
$5,000 off — or a full exemption if 100% permanent & total
A Florida resident veteran with a VA service-connected disability of 10% or more gets a $5,000 property tax exemption. A veteran (or their surviving spouse) who is honorably discharged with a permanent and total service-connected disability is exempt from ALL property tax on their homestead.
Combat-Disabled Veteran (65+) Homestead Discount
A % off your homestead tax equal to your disability rating
Florida residents age 65 or older who are honorably discharged with a combat-related, service-connected disability get a homestead property tax discount equal to their VA disability percentage (e.g. a 40% rating → 40% off the taxable value).
Free Lifetime State Parks Military Entrance Pass
Free lifetime park entry (disabled vets); 25% off passes for others
Honorably discharged U.S. veterans with a service-connected disability receive a free lifetime military entrance pass to Florida state parks (same benefit as the Family Annual Entrance Pass). All active-duty and honorably discharged veterans get 25% off an annual entrance pass.
Military Gold Sportsman's License
Discounted all-in-one hunting & fishing license for military
Florida resident active-duty and retired military members can buy the Military Gold Sportsman's License at a reduced rate. It bundles hunting, freshwater and saltwater fishing, and the major add-on permits into one license.

Pay in-state tuition rates at Florida public colleges
The C.W. Bill Young Veteran Tuition Waiver waives the higher out-of-state tuition and fees at Florida public institutions for veterans (and qualifying spouses/dependents using VA education benefits) who live in Florida while enrolled.
