Disabled Veterans School Tax Credit
100% disabled vets exempt from property & school taxes
Under Delaware's HB12, 100% disabled veterans are exempt from property and school taxes on their home. Apply for the Disabled Veterans School Tax credit by April 30 each year.
State Parks 50% Entrance Discount
50% off the annual state park vehicle entrance pass
Delaware veterans (and current service members, including DE National Guard) with a Delaware-registered vehicle get 50% off the annual vehicle entrance fee to state parks and recreation areas.
Paraplegic Veteran State Pension
$3,000/year state pension for paraplegic wartime vets
Delaware pays a state pension of $3,000 per year (in equal monthly installments) to a paraplegic, fully disabled veteran whose disability is a direct result of wartime service.
State Employment Preference
5 points (10 if disabled) for state jobs
Delaware grants a state employment hiring preference to eligible veterans, disabled veterans, and their spouses/surviving spouses — 5 points for veterans and 10 points for disabled veterans.
Education Benefits for Children of Deceased Veterans
Full tuition & fees at DE public colleges
Children (ages 16–24) of veterans who died from a service-related cause, and who have lived in Delaware at least three years, may receive full tuition and fees at any Delaware public college.
