South Dakota exempts $200,000 of a dwelling's full-and-true value for veterans rated permanently & totally disabled from a service-connected disability. Paraplegic veterans (loss/loss-of-use of both legs) in a wheelchair home are FULLY exempt. Surviving spouses may qualify.

Free Tuition for Veterans

Up to 4 years of free tuition at state schools

South Dakota gives eligible veterans one month of free tuition for each month of qualifying service (minimum one, up to a maximum of four academic years) at state-supported universities or technical colleges.
