Total Property Tax Exemption for Disabled Veterans
Home + up to 5 acres + 2 vehicles fully exempt
South Carolina fully exempts from property tax the home (and up to five acres) plus up to two private passenger vehicles of a veteran with a total, permanent, service-connected disability. A surviving spouse can receive the same exemption — even if the veteran never claimed it.

South Carolina provides free undergraduate tuition at state-supported institutions for children (age 26 or younger) of veterans who are permanently and totally disabled, died from service, or are POW/MIA. It does not cover books, room, or board.
