Disabled Veteran Property Tax Exemption
Exempts a portion of your home's assessed value
Oregon exempts a portion of the homestead's assessed value for disabled veterans (or their surviving spouse/partner) certified at 40% or more disability. The exemption amount is set by statute and adjusts each year.
Special Access Pass (State Parks)
Free day-use parking + free camping for disabled vets
Oregon's Special Access Pass gives veterans with a service-connected disability free day-use parking at state parks that charge a fee, plus free camping (RV, tent, or standard horse sites) up to four nights at a time / four nights per calendar month.
Free Combination Hunting/Fishing License
Free hunt + fish + shellfish license (25%+ disabled)
Oregon offers a free combination license (hunting, fishing, shellfish, and a Columbia River Basin Endorsement) to resident veterans with a 25%+ service-connected disability. Disabled veterans can also get a $25 elk tag. Requires at least six months of Oregon residency.
Veterans Educational Bridge Grant
Up to $5,000 grant toward education/training
Oregon's Veterans Educational Bridge Grant offers up to $5,000 to eligible veterans to ease financial stress while completing an educational or vocational training program. Oregon also charges veterans the resident tuition rate at public colleges even before formal residency.
