All Veterans' Property Tax Credit

$50–$750 off your property tax (town-adopted)

New Hampshire's All Veterans' Tax Credit reduces a qualifying veteran's property tax by an amount each town adopts — from $50 up to $750. A separate Combat Service credit is also available in participating towns. You must have lived in NH at least one year before April 1.

Disabled Veteran Tax Credit / Exemption

Larger credit — up to a full exemption for some disabled vets

New Hampshire offers an enhanced property tax credit for veterans with a service-connected total disability (well above the standard veterans' credit where towns adopt it), and a full property tax exemption for certain veterans (e.g. those with specially adapted housing or who are paraplegic).

Disabled Veterans Hunting & Fishing License

Free perpetual license (total disability); 50% off lifetime (80%+)

New Hampshire resident veterans who are honorably discharged and totally & permanently disabled from a service-connected disability can get a free perpetual fishing, hunting, or bow-and-arrow license. Veterans rated 80–100% can buy a lifetime fishing/hunting license at 50% of the normal cost (one-time $10 admin fee).

State Employment Preference

5 points (10 if 10%+ disabled)

All honorably discharged New Hampshire veterans receive a 5-point employment preference in interviews and exams for state jobs; veterans with a disability rating of 10% or more receive a total of 10 points.

Free Disabled Veteran Plate & Free Parking

Free DV plate; free municipal parking

Honorably discharged veterans who are totally and permanently disabled from a service-connected disability get one Disabled Veteran plate at no charge. A vehicle with the accessibility-symbol DV plate gets free parking time in any New Hampshire city or town when driven by the owner.
