Homestead Exemption for Disabled Veterans
Property tax relief — up to a full exemption for SAH homes
Nebraska's Homestead Exemption gives property tax relief to veterans totally disabled by a service-connected condition (and qualifying surviving spouses), and fully exempts homes substantially contributed to by the VA (specially adapted housing).
Motor Vehicle Tax Exemption
No motor vehicle tax or fee on one vehicle
Beginning January 1, 2026, all disabled and/or blind veterans in Nebraska can receive an exemption from the Motor Vehicle Tax and Motor Vehicle Fee for one vehicle owned and used for their personal transportation.
Waiver of Tuition (Dependents)
Free tuition — one community-college & one bachelor's credential
Nebraska's Waiver of Tuition covers one degree, diploma, or certificate from a community college AND one baccalaureate degree from a state college or university, for eligible dependents (children, spouses, and widow(er)s) of qualifying veterans.
