Disabled Veteran Homestead Tax Credit

Credit equal to 100% of your homestead property tax

Iowa's Disabled Veteran Homestead Tax Credit equals the entire amount of property tax levied on the homestead, for veterans with a permanent 100% service-connected rating (or 100% via individual unemployability). A surviving spouse receiving DIC also qualifies.

Lifetime Hunting & Fishing License

$7 lifetime hunt/fish license; lifetime for disabled vets/POWs

Iowa offers resident veterans (who served on active federal service) a lifetime hunting or fishing license for a $7 fee, and a lifetime hunting & fishing license to veterans with a service-connected disability or who were POWs. A discounted lifetime trout license is also available.
