Vocational Rehabilitation & Employment (VR&E / Chapter 31)

Full tuition + monthly subsistence allowance + career counseling for veterans with service-connected disabilities affecting employment. Up to 48 months.

Who qualifies: Veterans, Veterans with a service-connected disability.

VR&E helps veterans with service-connected disabilities prepare for, find, and maintain suitable employment or achieve independence.

Benefits:
• Full tuition and fees (no cap like GI Bill)
• Monthly subsistence allowance (living stipend during training)
• Books, supplies, and equipment
• Career counseling and job placement assistance
• Up to 48 months of benefits

Five tracks:
1. Reemployment – return to former job
2. Rapid Access to Employment – quick job placement
3. Self-Employment / Entrepreneurship – start a business
4. Employment through Long-Term Services – degree or vocational training
5. Independent Living – for those who cannot work

Eligibility: 10%+ service-connected disability rating with employment handicap.
