Montgomery GI Bill (MGIB, Chapter 30)

Monthly education benefit for veterans who contributed $1,200 during service. Up to 36 months of benefits.

Who qualifies: Veterans, Active duty.

The Montgomery GI Bill — Active Duty provides monthly payments for education and training for veterans who served on active duty.

• Up to 36 months of education benefits
• Monthly payments based on training type (full-time, part-time, etc.)
• Must have contributed $1,200 during service (deducted from pay)
• Must have an honorable discharge
• Cannot use both MGIB and Post-9/11 GI Bill for the same period (choose one)
