VA Automobile / Adaptive Vehicle Grant
One-time grant up to ~$22,000 to purchase an automobile or modify a vehicle for service-connected loss of use of limbs or severe visual impairment.
Who qualifies: Veterans with a service-connected disability.
The VA provides a one-time financial assistance grant for eligible veterans to purchase an automobile or other conveyance, or to modify an existing vehicle:
• One-time grant (amount adjusted annually; approximately $22,000 in recent years)
• Available for veterans with service-connected loss of use of one or both hands or feet, or service-connected severe visual impairment
• Adaptive equipment modifications can be separately funded regardless of auto grant use
