Specially Adapted Housing (SAH) Grant
Up to $117,014 (FY2026) to build or modify a home for veterans with severe service-connected mobility impairments.
Who qualifies: Veterans with a service-connected disability.
The SAH grant helps veterans with certain service-connected disabilities purchase, build, or adapt their home to accommodate their disability.
• Up to $117,014 in FY2026
• For veterans who are permanently and totally disabled due to service-connected conditions affecting mobility (e.g., loss of limbs, paralysis)
• Can be used up to 3 times (lifetime limit applies to total grant amount)
• Can also be used for Temporary Residence Adaptation (TRA) in a family member's home
