Free entrepreneurship & career programs for veterans
Institute for Veterans and Military Families (IVMF) offers free programs including Entrepreneurship Bootcamp for Veterans (EBV), V-WISE for veteran women entrepreneurs, and career skills courses. Nationally recognized, at no cost to eligible veterans and spouses.
How to redeem
- Browse IVMF programs at ivmf.syracuse.edu/programs to find the best fit for your goal.
- Complete the online application — most programs require a short essay about your goals.
- For EBV: complete the 30-day online phase, then attend the 9-day residential bootcamp (travel often covered).
- For O2O: select a certification track (IT, PM, HR, logistics, or business) and complete online coursework.
Tips
- EBV graduates receive $1,500 in seed funding and one year of mentoring — apply even with an early-stage idea.
- O2O leads to CompTIA, PMP, SHRM, and other industry-recognized credentials.
- IVMF alumni networks are strong — peer connections are often as valuable as the curriculum.
