Vet Center Program

Community-based counseling centers offering confidential mental health care, MST counseling, and readjustment services – no VA enrollment required.

Who qualifies: Veterans, Active duty, National Guard.

Vet Centers are community-based counseling centers operated by the VA but separate from VA hospitals:

**Services (all free):**
• Individual and group counseling
• PTSD treatment
• Military Sexual Trauma (MST) counseling
• Bereavement counseling for surviving family members
• Substance use assessment and referral
• Employment referrals
• Community outreach and education

**Key advantages over VA hospitals:**
• No VA enrollment required
• Walk-in appointments often available
• More accessible locations (community-based)
• More confidential feel than a hospital
• Available to combat veterans, MST survivors, and active duty
• Open to National Guard and Reserve members who served in combat
