VA Adaptive Sports Program

Free adaptive sports and recreation programs for veterans and service members with physical or visual disabilities.

Who qualifies: Veterans, Veterans with a service-connected disability.

The VA Adaptive Sports Program provides adaptive sports and therapeutic recreation to veterans and service members with physical or visual disabilities:

Programs include:
• Wheelchair basketball, tennis, rugby, and handcycling
• Seated volleyball and sled hockey
• Adaptive golf, skiing, and swimming
• Para powerlifting and track and field
• Archery, shooting, and more

National Veterans Wheelchair Games:
• Largest annual wheelchair sports competition in the world
• Hosted by VA and Paralyzed Veterans of America
• Free for eligible participants

National Veterans Summer Sports Clinic:
• Week-long adaptive sports clinic in San Diego
• Surfing, kayaking, cycling, golf, sailing
• Free for eligible veterans

VA Winter Sports Clinic:
• Week-long adaptive skiing program in Snowmass, CO
• Downhill, cross-country, biathlon
• Free for eligible veterans

Eligibility: veterans enrolled in VA healthcare with physical or visual disabilities. Contact your VA medical center's recreation therapy department.
