TRICARE Dental Program (TDP) & FEDVIP Dental/Vision

Voluntary dental for active-duty families and Guard/Reserve (TDP, via United Concordia), plus FEDVIP dental and vision for retirees and their families through BENEFEDS/OPM.

Who qualifies: Active duty, National Guard, Veterans, Survivors & family members.

**What It Is**
TRICARE's medical plans generally do not include routine dental, so dental (and, for retirees, vision) is handled through separate voluntary programs.

**TRICARE Dental Program (TDP)**
• For active-duty family members and for National Guard/Reserve members and their families
• Administered by United Concordia; you pay a monthly premium
• Enroll online, by phone, or by mail

**FEDVIP (retirees and families)**
• Retired uniformed service members, their families, and survivors can enroll in FEDVIP dental through the Office of Personnel Management (via BENEFEDS)
• FEDVIP vision is also available if you're enrolled in a TRICARE health plan
• Active-duty service members are not eligible for FEDVIP (they receive active-duty dental care)
• Retiring members can enroll beginning 31 days before their retirement date; changes are made during Federal Benefits Open Season

**TRICARE Young Adult (related)**
Adult children who age out of regular TRICARE at 21 (or 23 if in college) may purchase TRICARE Young Adult coverage up to age 26.
