Free YMCA Membership (Military OneSource)
Free YMCA memberships for the families of deployed Guard/Reserve members and for geographically separated independent-duty personnel, through a Military OneSource partnership.
Who qualifies: Active duty, National Guard.
**What It Is**
Through a partnership between **Military OneSource**, the **Armed Services YMCA**, and the **YMCA**, eligible military families can get a **free YMCA membership** — a real help for staying active and connected while a service member is deployed or stationed away from an installation.
**Who Qualifies (for the free membership)**
• Families of **deployed National Guard and Reserve** members (during the deployment), and
• **Independent-duty active-duty** personnel and their families who are geographically separated from a military installation.
**What You Get**
A no-cost family or individual YMCA membership at participating branches (facilities, pools, classes, and youth programs). Some YMCAs also offer their own separate 10%–20% military discount to any service member or veteran, independent of this program.
**How to Apply**
Start at **Military OneSource** (militaryonesource.mil) or the **Armed Services YMCA** to confirm eligibility and get your authorization, then present it at a participating YMCA branch.
**Tip**
Even if you don't qualify for the free program, ask your local YMCA about its standard military discount — many offer 10%–20% off or waived join fees.
