CHAMPVA
Health coverage for dependents of permanently and totally (P&T) disabled veterans. Covers most medical costs.
Who qualifies: Veterans with a service-connected disability, Survivors & family members.
CHAMPVA (Civilian Health and Medical Program of the Department of Veterans Affairs) provides healthcare coverage to:
• Spouses and children of veterans rated permanently and totally (P&T) disabled
• Surviving spouses and children of veterans who died from a service-connected condition
• Surviving spouses and children of veterans who were P&T at time of death
CHAMPVA is not available if the dependent is eligible for TRICARE (military retiree family members).
Covers most inpatient, outpatient, mental health, pharmacy, and medical equipment costs.
