Caregiver Support Program (PCACP)

Stipend, healthcare coverage, respite care, and mental health services for family caregivers of eligible veterans.

Who qualifies: Veterans with a service-connected disability, Survivors & family members.

The Program of Comprehensive Assistance for Family Caregivers (PCACP) supports unpaid family caregivers of eligible veterans.

Benefits include:
• Monthly caregiver stipend (based on local wage rates)
• Health insurance through TRICARE (if not otherwise covered)
• Mental health services and counseling
• Respite care (temporary relief from caregiving)
• Caregiver training
• Travel benefits when accompanying the veteran to VA appointments

Eligibility: veteran must have a serious injury or illness incurred or aggravated in the line of duty (expanded beyond post-9/11 in recent years).
