Up to $2,424/month added to VA Pension for veterans who need help with daily living activities. One of the most underutilized VA benefits.

Aid & Attendance is an enhanced VA Pension benefit for veterans who need help with daily living:

**2026 Maximum Annual Rates:**
• Veteran alone: up to $29,093/year ($2,424/month)
• Veteran with spouse: up to $34,433/year ($2,869/month)
• Surviving spouse: up to $18,685/year ($1,557/month)

**Eligibility:**
• Must require assistance with at least one Activity of Daily Living (bathing, dressing, eating, toileting)
• OR be bedridden
• OR reside in a nursing home due to mental or physical incapacity
• OR be blind (corrected vision 5/200 or less)
• Must meet VA Pension eligibility (wartime service, income/net worth limits)
• Net worth limit 2026: $163,699

This benefit is massively underutilized – many veterans in assisted living or needing in-home care qualify but never apply.
