Free American flag to drape over the casket or accompany the urn of an eligible veteran.
Who qualifies: Veterans, Survivors & family members.
A U.S. flag is provided at no cost to drape the casket or urn of an eligible veteran:
• Available for veterans who served honorably in the U.S. Armed Forces
• Presented to the next of kin
• Request from the funeral director or VA regional office
The flag may not be returned to VA once issued. An additional flag may be available for veterans who also served in the Merchant Marine during WWII.
