Who qualifies: Active duty, National Guard.
Judge Advocate General (JAG) offices provide free legal services to active duty service members and their families:
• Wills and estate planning
• Powers of attorney
• Notary services
• Consumer protection advice
• Landlord/tenant disputes
• SCRA-related issues
• Family law consultations (limited)
• Tax issues
Services are free but limited in scope – complex litigation is typically referred to civilian attorneys. Access via your installation's Legal Assistance Office.
